What? You haven’t RSVP’d for next week’s construction launch for Living Building at Georgia Tech? Time to do so now here.

The 11 a.m., Nov. 2 launch — at the building site at First Avenue and State Street on the Georgia Tech campus — will include several high-profile speakers, as well as interactive displays on topics related to the Living Building. Among them: materials samples, an augmented reality view of the building, edible landscaping, beekeeping and composting,

Originally set for Sept. 12, the launch was postponed as remnants of Hurricane Irma threatened to sweep through metro Atlanta. But the event’s organizers expect a similar lineup of activities at the new time and date: 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 2. You don’t need to RSVP, but please do so here so that organizers can get a good count of those coming.

The event is substitutes for a traditional “groundbreaking” — consistent with the regenerative theme of the Living Building Challenge. For details about the project, check out this gallery on the project’s design and features at its Design Development phase.

The Living Building at Georgia Tech is being funded through a major commitment by the Kendeda Fund, which also publishes the Living Building Chronicle as part of an outreach effort intended to spread the word about regenerative design and construction.
