1.  Why BCA embarks on the Super Low Energy Building (SLEB) Smart Hub initiative?

The Super Low Energy (SLE) building movement is gaining momentum in Singapore. Today, building owners and developers are becoming increasingly exposed to various green technologies and products. Due to the sheer volume of information out there, it can be challenging to understand and evaluate different green technologies, and which will hinder the green technology adoption. This is why BCA embarks on SLEB Smart Hub initiative to empower building owners and developers to adopt latest green technologies by sharing knowledge and actionable insights.


2.  What is SLEB Smart Hub?

The Super Low Energy Building (SLEB) Smart Hub is a self-service digital knowledge platform to help building owners and developers to source for and  implement the latest green building technologies to achieve the SLE targets.


3.  What are the key features of the SLEB Smart Hub and how they can help building industry?

The SLEB Smart Hub has a wide variety of features to help building industry to turn the targeted building into a Super Low Energy building. Three key features and described as follows.


i) Technology Directory

Technology Directory hosts a comprehensive library of available green technologies. This will be updated as technology companies register new product. Building owners and managers can refer to an expanding list of possible green solutions and choose the ones that are best suited to their needs.


ii) Dashboard

Dashboard provides statistical data analysis on building energy efficiency. Building owners and managers can also benchmark their building’s energy performance against other similar buildings through the dashboard and identify key areas for improvement.


iii) Smart Advisor

Smart Advisor recommends a retrofitting plan customised to your building parameters. You can input building information, such as your building type, gross floor area, the air-conditioning system type, then the Smart Advisor will generate a shortlist of suitable upgrades that you can adopt to green your building.
