When the BCA’s Zero Energy Building (ZEB) at BCA Braddell Campus was unveiled in 2009, it was one of the first retrofitted net zero energy buildings in Asia, producing sufficient energy on its own to offset its consumption. Since then, BCA has continued to collaborate with local and international innovation community to retrofit ZEB to ‘ZEB Plus’, a positive energy building producing at least 20% surplus energy than it consumes.
This is a series of case studies on high-performance Super Low Energy Building published for knowledge sharing on green building solutions. BCA, with the National Research Foundation’s support, promotes research and showcase advanced technological solutions such as high efficiency hybrid cooling and radiant cooling systems, to achieve net zero and beyond. ZEB Plus will continue to offer itself as a living lab for both our local and international innovation community to develop and test innovative green building solutions.
