DBS Newton Green is a 30-year-old, 4-storey office building that has been retrofitted to become Singapore's first net zero building by a bank. To preserve the building's architectural heritage and minimise environmental impact, the building was retrofitted with innovative technologies and design features that collectively reduce its energy consumption by 70%. Powered fully by onsite solar panels spanning over 1,000 sqm, DBS Newton Green joins the rarefied but growing ranks of net zero energy buildings in the world.
